On the occasion of Azadi ka Amril Mahotsav, NSS cell of Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University Organized a webinar on “What India Needs?” on 14 August 2021, Saturday at 10:45am with speaker Dr. TP Sasi Kumar. 150+ students registered for this webinar and attended it.
The session started with a wonderful welcome speech by our NSS Team and Coordinator mam. After then, the Principal, JDMC Dr. Swati Pal welcomed and greeted the speaker for the session. In this knowledgeable and insightful session the speaker sir very beautifully and clearky explained all what are the current needs of our country and what all should be done to bring them in consideration, being the youth of the country. He interacted with the students and all the students clearly mentioned what all doubts they had after the session and TP Sir sorted them out and also guided the students.

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, NSS Cell of Janki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University conducted a virtual event of rendering of the national anthem of India with active participation of all the NSS Volunteers and NSS Programming Officer Dr. Jayanti P Sahoo and other members. The webinar had 75+ volunteers who sang National Anthem with their high spirits.
Aftre this, the NSS PO, Dr. Jayanti P Sahoo specially adressed the students and motivated them towards doing social service. And also she directed us and guided us the ways and activities we can do for social welfare.
Enthusiastic students of NSS 2019, conducted a rally on Gandhian values. by holding banners and posters, everyone shouted: "Clean India, Green India" among the neighbourhood of Karol Bagh and in college itself on 1st October to give a tribute to Gandhi. An initiative was taken up by our volunteers to spread awareness about stopping the usage of plastic. Apart from these plantation drives were also conducted where we planted seeds and watered the plants on our college campus.
NSS volunteers always celebrate occasions uniquely by spreading awareness about something related to social issues. For instance, we celebrated Diwali by painting the streets of Ajmal Khan Road in colourful geometric patterns on which we stressed being eco-friendly and using no crackers and to "Save Planet" by doing so. Hard was paid us when love is shown by a newspaper article. Apart from this, we have also attended the GOOD AIR SUMMIT of the IHW council to help India breathe clean and healthy.
In the year 2020, we come up with a bit of contribution in spreading awareness through posting posters and other painting pictures of Covid-19 awareness on the social media platform and also conducted various webinars on the "Covid-19 pandemic and its impact" and other social awareness issues such as "Cyber Crime" and "Road Safety" awareness. Volunteers also urged people to stay at home and follow the precautions stringently and meticulously.
On 10 April 2021, all the willing NSS volunteers conducted Yamuna Cleanliness Drive in which they cleared the shore of Yamuna and asked people to keep it clean.
From 11th to 14th of April NSS volunteers took all the safety measures and created awareness about the "Covid Vaccine" and its importance through posters.
They even aware people about putting on a mask, maintaining social distance, using sanitizer, staying indoors, etc.
All the activities provided each member of the NSS cell a great sense of joy and insight into the society in which we live and grow.
