  • As a part of Living Ethically with Nature Series (LENS) lectures/webinars are organized reflecting the interdependence between nature and humanity and imparting an informed outlook towards our environment and mother earth.

Avani-The environment Club

  • We are living today in a world where increasingly it is being recognised that the survival of the human species is dependent upon a balanced relationship between society and the environment.
  • This balance of life can only be possible when a consciousness arises about the importance of nature in shaping our lives.
  • We can only understand this reciprocity if we can nurture an ecological consciousness combined with an inner spiritual awakening that teaches us our oneness with nature.
  • There are different dimensions to the emergence of such a consciousness in which society and nature are tied together in an ethical and valued way
  • Avani -The environment club at JDMC, under the aegis of the Centre seeks to contribute to the creation of such a balanced world through diverse and holistic practices
  • In an attempt to fulfill these goals LENS,our bi annual lecture series on ethical living conducted under the Centre,is aimed at creating such awareness and understanding, as are the other fun activities such as the Green Treasure Hunt that involve students at an institution level in understanding their environment.

Gandhi Study Circle

  • The Gandhi Study Circle JDMC is a decade old co-curricular society that strives to promote Gandhian values in contemporary times. In 2020, GSC-JDMC became part of the Centre for Universal Values and Ethics, Janki Devi Memorial College
  • Believing that our collective future depends upon what we do in the present, the Gandhi Study Circle JDMC attempts to understand and translate Gandhian ideas in contemporary times through pedagogy, social outreach, promotion of Gandhian values especially emphasis on material simplicity and stress on service as a core societal responsibility.
