How To Apply

Eligibility and Regulations
  • Ad hoc/ Temporary/ Permanent faculty members are eligible to apply.
  • A researcher can avail only one project at a time under this scheme.
  • The Principal Investigator (PI) should involve undergraduate students in the project. The students can be remunerated, which should be included in the budget.
  • All team members must be from the same college/ institution.
  • The Principal Investigator(s) and the host Institution will be accountable for the project.

Important Points
  • The proposals will be duly assessed by the Research Committee. The decision of the Committee will be final and binding.
  • The average tenure of a project will be 12 months, with possibility of further extension. The effective date of implementation of the project will be mentioned in approval-cum-sanction letter.
  • After finalisation of the selection procedure of the research projects, the PIs of the selected projects will be intimated through email.
  • Project will not be transferable in any case.
  • If a Principal Investigator fails to complete the project on time, he/she has to refund the entire amount.

Procedure for Release of Grants

The first installment of the grant will comprise of Rs. 30,000/- of the expenditure approved by the College. The grant will be released to the Principal Investigator.

On receipt of the three Progress Reports, the second installment may be released.

1) The Executive summary of the report,

2) Research documents, monograph, academic papers published under the Research Project


The grant can be availed only for expenditure pertaining to the research,

  • procuring relevant books and equipment,
  • subscriptions for scholarly journals that are not available through the DU and JDMC Library portals
  • printing reports, copying and photocopying expenses
  • travel, when applicable

Note: The grantees can henceforth spend the money on research as and when required and claim that sum from the Centre after providing bills and receipts for the expenditure they have incurred on research.

The money to all grantees will be reimbursed after they have provided evidence of expenditure for research and returned the properties (books, equipment etc) required for their research that have been bought for the research with the grant to the college in order to receive clearance from the Centre along with completion certificate/s.
