In 2023-24, the Centre plans to double the faculty research output by providing them access to external government and non-government funding and publishing opportunities for the research they have done or are currently engaged in.
By 2028, the Centre’s aim is to have facilitated faculty and student research by publishing e-journals with ISSN.
We hope to have research orientation among the faculty and students of the college in the next quarter century with a well-established scholarly journal that figures in respected academic databases.
The Centre will be led by a team that will consist of a Director, a General Secretary, Treasurer, an Ethics and Review Committee consisting of internal and external member. The rest of the Research Centre team will have departmental faculty representatives who will mentor student research projects. The term of all members is initially for 2 years, with the possibility of extension if required.
The Research Centre will function as a unit with multiple components; each with its own foci.
The prospective researchers will be expected to fulfil certain requirements that will include sending their research proposals in a format provided on the Centre’s website; sign an undertaking to abide by the rules of the Centre; observe the principles of academic integrity etc. in order to avail of the facilities provided by the Centre.
Initially, the Centre will fund and support the research projects of the students and faculty who are enrolled in the college.
Faculty and students will be expected to complete their projects in a time-bound fashion, in addition to providing timely updates about the progress of their projects.
Successful projects have the chance to be selected and published by the JDMC E-Journal that is also being planned.
Although the Centre has been formally initiated recently, JDMC has been funding research of its faculty and students for over three years.
