Samarth-The Enabling Unit of JDMC organized a workshop in collaboration with SAKSHAM on 25th August 2021 at 11:30am to discuss the problems faced by Students with Disabilities in online teaching and learning. The speaker from Saksham Deependra Minocha heard the problems of the students and further informed them about new devices and methods of writing whereby they will not need writers for their University Examinations. They also apprised them about workshops for new job opportunities and internships.
Some of our extension and outreach activities are as follows:-
§ EOC regularly organizes sensitization workshops for students and staff in collaboration with organizations like Sanjeevani India, Amarjyoti Charitable Trust, and SCORE Foundation.
§ The EOC and the NSS collaborate in providing these students with all possible help and guidance.
§ EOC of JDMC is probably the only one to provide free meals to its students with disabilities.
§ JDMC is the first college to take the initiative to include an exclusive event for students with disabilities as part of its Annual Cultural Festival, “SYMPHONY.”
It is through these constant efforts highlighted above that Samarthyam (NGO) working for the rights of the disabled, rated JDMC as the most disabled-friendly college.
We hope to encourage the students and make them feel an essential part of the larger community.
