Seminar/ Webinar/ Workshops

The National Service Scheme of Janki Devi Memorial College provides multiple opportunities to the NSS Volunteers to take part in various community services and outreach programs. Many workshops, activities and webinars are carried out by the NSS-JDMC cell throughout in the Academic year 2020-21 to help the volunteers gain exposure and experience of various sorts.

WEBINARS

Webinars have always proved to be effective as such sessions help in conveying the information, giving feedbacks and presenting a lecture more efficiently using various means.

The National Service cell conducted various meaningful and thought-provoking webinars which enabled the students to grasp valuable knowledge even in the online platforms.

Webinars on YOGA

In order to cope up with the mental stress which was highly on stake due to the current covid situation, The National Service Scheme organized multiple webinars and workshops on Yoga. Yoga encapsulates the healing properties and strengthens the physical, mental and spiritual health of the human body. For women, Yoga is highly beneficial in maintaining hormonal balance and improving overall health.

NSS JDMC in association with NSS Cell of NSUT organized a workshop on- *”Yoga for women health and hygiene, and cure of PCOD”* by Acharyaa Swati Jha. It was an absolute informative session and our first step towards a healthy lifestyle. Two days later again , NSS NSUT Cell & FIT India club, NSUT took an initiative under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat & FIT India Movement and organized a short online workshop on yoga for women's health and hygiene (PCOD cure), in collaboration with NSS units of ANDC, DDUC, KMV, SSCBS, MSI, JCBUST YMCA, DISPUR COLLEGE ASSAM, JDMC. More than 500 participants joined the webinar which presented the importance of yoga in our daily lives and also highlighted the important measures that the girls should take up in order to avoid PCOD.

A seven day workshop on the occasion of "International Yoga Day" was also organized which helped the volunteers to lead a healthy life. The session was made very interactive because many participants turned their videos on and performed the various asana and yoga postures.

Various other stress management sessions like "Journey through Mystic Effects of Yoga" were conducted in the online platforms with very renowned yoga gurus like Dr. Kush Panchal which helped the volunteers in multiple ways to cope up with stress and boost their mental health.

Webinars in collaboration with COLLCOM

The National Service Scheme of Janki Devi Memorial College along with CollCom organized many webinars on topics like "Cyber Crime Awareness and Safety Measures" , "Youth Power, Social Work and Nation Building" , "Digital Banking Frauds, Safety and Precautions" which helped the volunteers to realize the risks of the social platforms and take adequate measures to avoid and prevent various frauds. The volunteers gained enough knowledge about the risks of the digital platforms ranging from the Facebook to Banking apps.

Webinar on National Education Policy 2020, Challenges and Opportunities

A webinar on "National Education Policy 2020, Challenges and Opportunities" was also organized whose esteemed speaker for the session was T.P Sasi Kumar. The volunteers were told about the new education policy and the changes it had brought in the Indian education system. It also highlighted that how the new policy aims to make India a Global Knowledge Super Power. He also spoke about the positive role of language that will take place between students and teachers in the NEP. All the queries that the volunteers had in their mind regarding the New Education Policy were solved brilliantly by Sasi Kumar.

Others

Various other webinars were conducted by the NSS cell of Janki Devi Memorial College on the topics like "Life Beyond Cancer on Cancer Awareness" , " Blood Shortage In India During Covid 19" , "The Third Gender" etc. , which provided great leaning and experience to the NSS volunteers. The speaker of every webinar provided great teachings to the volunteers and motivated them to apply the knowledge gained into the real practical world.
